Our Recycling

Where ever possible, we will always recycle steel to steel recycle, timber to timber recycle, Paper cardboard to paper reclaim etc....... Hard fill, when we can find a place to hard fill.

We will try where ever possible to sort waste on site so that 1 load of steel, 1 load of paper, what ever, goes to the correct place, this is not always possible, but where we can we do and our price reflects this.

Because 90% of our waste is construction, I believe 75% of this is recyclable, because we don't have a facility to process this so we are no where near 75% recycle, BUT this is the main plan of attack in getting our cost/price down.

This is definitely an on going concern and Wastex continues to work on this problem.

WASTE BYLAW - The new Wastex Bylaw came into effect in 2006.
Wastex is fully licenced to remove waste with-in the Auckland and surrounding areas.

Three years ago I almost got in and brought a yard where the team and I could do recycling, shucks! I am glad my wife talked me out of that, our business at that time was predominantly waste removal moving towards demolition and then waste removal, could you imagine what I would be like if that idea had got life?

Keep telling yourself your business mission statement and you won’t stray, like I almost did!

As you can see we have gone more with the Green Star system which is sorting at the source then using my high sided tipping trucks take each item to its correct point of recycling. Then we provide documentation to verify with weigh dockets and all figures.

My team and I are big on recycling and think that recycling at the source is by far the most cost effective way to go.

Over the last six months we have all been hearing this term on construction sites around Auckland “Green Star” the recycling of construction waste to its correct recycle center.

We are now happy to announce that we are able to provide Green Star on your job site in several ways:

Complete demolition and waste removal. On sites where Wastex gets both the demolition and then the waste removal :- Wastex will provide to you:

All waste sorted on site.
Sorted waste delivered to correct recycling center.
Individual weights of all recyclables and waste and then the total waste figure.
Total figures collated and delivered on a one page summary for that job.

On sites where your company has done demolition work, my team and I will sort waste and take to appropriate recycle center (extra cost for your company for my team to sort your waste) and provide paperwork the same as above

By using Wastex to do your demolition and/or waste removal my team and I will be able to help you and your company achieve their Green Star targets. Should you choose to use Wastex to achieve your Green Star goals, 10% will be added to your final invoice to assist Wastex with extra labour, mileage and administration to help you achieve this.
